Music is the language of our calling. To sing of hope and truth. to unite people in a common space and goal. in the pursuit of a place to belong.
The story
CreekWater has come together through relationships that were built over the course of several years. Some of us have known each other since childhood, some since the beginning of college, and others met when this project was formed.
Most of us had played together before, in the years prior to the group’s formation. The majority of our experience together always centered around leading worship, and that is exactly how the band came together. Reese was asked to put together a team to lead worship at Lake Forest Ranch, in Macon, Mississippi for their summer student camps. Alex and River had been leading with him for various other camps for a couple of summers prior, and Jalon came in to complete the group for the summer. Over the course of three camps, we all realized that there was something special about the group, and we agreed to keep in touch and see how it went. It has been a year now, and we still love playing together and uniting people together in song.
Driven by A Calling
We're not here to follow trends or be the cool guys—and I think we could all agree that those descriptions do not fit any of us anyway. We all feel called to use the musical gifts that the Lord has blessed us with for something greater than ourselves. Whether it’s leading worship or simply singing songs that are birthed from our faith and hope in Christ, we feel called to reach out to people through music and singing together.
